During the previous summer, I had the opportunity to design and construct a custom cover for a 30-foot canoe. The cover was created for Alaska Mountain Guides in Haines, Alaska, where I had the pleasure of working during the summer of 2025. The design features three separate removable sections, each engineered to prevent rain from entering the canoe’s compartments. The cover was constructed using heavy-duty tarp material and repurposed tent poles and fasteners. The project was completed within one week using a 1970s Singer home sewing machine.
